Just click it

For those who didn't hear the trumpet fanfare, the Web site for Ma Nao Books officially launched yesterday (manaobooks.com), and now I just sit back and wait for the commissions and PayPal orders to roll in, right? Hold on, lemme find my cigars.

In other bookbinding news, I loved the class with Alicia Bailey during the recent Focus on Book Arts conference out in Forest Grove. Just like that, in two days I was able to add five bindings to the repertoire. There's nothing like new structures to get my creativity flowing.

Jim Carmin's kickoff lecture Thursday night re content in artist's books gave me much to mull. I tend to have plenty of text ideas, but I always get stymied by the printing question.

I sometimes wonder what would have happened had I bought that Vandercook back in Seattle and so long ago. Never mind that the decade that followed hardly supported owning such a cumbersome item.

The next studio project is a stitched presentation brochure for the Pure Fun Mystery Product; a family-only ode to Grandpa John; and another in-time-for-xmas limited edition: a listening guide to Astor Piazzolla playing Central Park.

Shout-outs to Shu-Ju, the coding queen, for finally getting Ma Nao Books online, and to all the readers of this blog, who kept the faith that I'd come back after all the Web work.

Goal now is to blog more. See you soon.
