Label making's in progress

Some days I yearn to be the Kate Spade of bookbinding with a bookbinding skill-based line of stationery items, home décor, and library accessories.

Other days that goal looks suspiciously shallow and like making widgets.

So I try to find that space between, where I can publish creativity between book covers, with titles in the fine press, and at the same time build things of utilitarian beauty. Already one of these most mundane – gorgeous chiyogami-covered tissue boxes – looks to be the biggest hit, and why be embarrassed? Shouldn’t we all, like, paper our walls in chiyogami?

Adding beauty to the everyday life – isn’t that the goal?

That's a tissue box? I want to see a picture of the whole thing!
